Im Vergleich zu anderen kleinen Rennmotoren der fr\u00fchen 1920er-Jahre stellt der ADS-R mit gr\u00f6\u00dferer Bohrung und k\u00fcrzeren Hub eine fortschrittliche Konzeption dar. Unter den 1,1-l-Rennwagen beliefen sich die Ma\u00dfe beim Salmson aus Frankreich auf 62,2 x 90 mm und beim Newton-Ceirano auf 60,4 x 95,7 mm. Die Zylinderbohrung des ADS-R war mit 68 mm sogar gr\u00f6\u00dfer als bei den f\u00fchrenden 1,5-l-Rennern seiner Zeit.
