{"id":36390,"date":"2020-01-31T11:16:34","date_gmt":"2020-01-31T10:16:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fahrtraum.at\/original-1949-porsche-konstruktionen-gesmbh-gmuend-water-turbine-now-in-fahrtraum\/"},"modified":"2020-01-31T11:16:34","modified_gmt":"2020-01-31T10:16:34","slug":"original-1949-porsche-konstruktionen-gesmbh-gmuend-water-turbine-now-in-fahrtraum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fahrtraum.at\/ru\/original-1949-porsche-konstruktionen-gesmbh-gmuend-water-turbine-now-in-fahrtraum\/","title":{"rendered":"Original 1949  Porsche Konstruktionen GesmbH (Gm\u00fcnd) water turbine now in fahr(T)raum"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>In the years between 1944 and 1950, the Porsche works in Gm\u00fcnd\/Carinthia, which operated under the name Porsche-Konstruktionen-Ges.m.b.H., produced not only the Porsche 356 No. 1 Roadster but also designs for racing cars, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fahrtraum.at\/ru\/ferdinand-porsche-and-his-tractors\/\">tractors<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fahrtraum.at\/ru\/hard-times-porsche-develops-winches-for-mountain-farmers-after-the-war\/\">cable winches<\/a>, ski lifts and crossflow turbines.<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The <strong>Type 291 crossflow turbine<\/strong> \u2013 on loan from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.auto-museum.at\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Porsche Automuseum in Gm\u00fcnd<\/a> \u2013 is currently on exhibit at <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">fahr(T)raum<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">. \u201cWe <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">have been <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">working <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">together with the Porsche Museum in Gm\u00fcnd for a long time and have a very strong and dear partner in the Pfeifhofer family,\u201d says <em>Jakob Iglhauser<\/em>, Managing Director of the<strong> fahr(T)raum classic car museum in Mattsee<\/strong> near Salzburg. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-36369 lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.fahrtraum.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Wasserturbine-Ferdinand-Porsche-Typ-291_2.2-300x275.png\" alt=\"Wasserturbine von Ferdinand Porsche Typ 291. It was also used to generate electricity. The advantage over the traditional water wheel was the significantly higher speed of the turbine, with which a higher output \u2013 even with a smaller water volume \u2013 could be achieved. The nozzle could be regulated by hand. The turbine was recommended for the \u201ceconomic utilisation of small hydropower plants\u201d for a power output of 4 to 20 HP for a fall height (drop) of 2.4 to 6 metres or a power output of 40 HP for a drop of 10 metres. It consists mainly of sheet steel parts welded together, the impeller runs on ball bearings. According to the original instruction handbook, maintenance is limited \u201cto daily retightening of the lubricators provided on the bearing bodies and refilling these lubricators with grease after a longer period of operation.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The turbine was produced in two types &#8212; type 291\/1 (490 kg, max. height 760 mm, max. length 1250 mm) and type 291\/2 (390 kg, max. height 740 mm, max. length 750 mm). <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The purchase and installation of the turbine was affordable even for economically weak mining operations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Originally, the crossflow turbine was invented as early as 1903 by <strong>Anthony George Michell<\/strong> in Melbourne. Improvements were first made by Professor <strong>Donat B\u00e1nki<\/strong> from Budapest and later by <strong>Ing.
