{"id":18211,"date":"2017-07-17T11:26:02","date_gmt":"2017-07-17T09:26:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fahrtraum.at\/fahrtraum-oldtimer-bei-grossglockner-automobilausstellung\/"},"modified":"2018-05-28T15:28:37","modified_gmt":"2018-05-28T13:28:37","slug":"fahrtraum-vintage-cars-at-grossglockner-automobile-exhibition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fahrtraum.at\/it\/fahrtraum-vintage-cars-at-grossglockner-automobile-exhibition\/","title":{"rendered":"fahr(T)raum vintage cars at Grossglockner Automobile Exhibition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This summer, <em>fahr(T)raum<\/em> <em>Mattsee<\/em> will present not one, but several exhibits at the world&#8217;s highest automobile exhibition on the Gro\u00dfglockner Hochalpenstra\u00dfe (High Alpine Road).<\/p>\n<p>On display at the visitor centre at the Kaiser-Franz-Josef-H\u00f6he are: a 1918 Austro Daimler AD sports roadster as well as a 1921 Austro Daimler AD 23 HP Oeffag interior drive Malek car. In addition, two Porsche tractors are on display &#8211; the Porsche Diesel Junior 108S, built in 1959, and the Porsche Diesel Super N 308K, built in 1960. For Ernst Pi\u00ebch, Ferdinand Porsches grandson, it was central to the selection of the exhibits to emphasise the Austrian background in the history of his grandfather.<\/p>\n<p>He has been cooperating with the Grossglockner Hochalpenstra\u00dfen AG since 2015 and sees the exhibition as an opportunity to bring his grandfather\u00b4s work as well as that of the <em>fahr(T)raum<\/em> <em>Mattsee<\/em> closer to an international audience. He himself associates wonderful childhood memories with the Gro\u00dfglockner. It was a popular destination for excursions and, via the hunting ground which his family had here, he has come to know the area very well since his childhood. He and his grandfather even met the planner of the Gro\u00dfglockner Hochalpenstra\u00dfe, Franz Wallack, several times personally. After its opening, the Gro\u00dfglockner Hochalpenstra\u00dfe replaced the Katschberg test course and Ferdinand Porsche gladly used it for brake tests with his Beetle.<\/p>\n<p>Today visitors can admire the milestones of the history of automobiles and motorcycles at an altitude of 2,369 m above sea level while enjoying the panorama view of the Gro\u00dfglockner. Exciting anecdotes, historical photos and high-quality vehicle exhibitions captivate young and old.
