On 15 March we will be welcoming Gunter Haug to fahr(T)raum Mattsee<\/a>. The author will perform a reading of his work \u00ab\u00a0Ferdinand Porsche – Ein Mythos wird geboren<\/a> \/ A myth is born\u00a0\u00bb in German at 7:30 pm.<\/p>\n

The newspaper, radio and television editor and author of more than 30 books has dealt with the \u00ab\u00a0human side of economic history\u00a0\u00bb in several factual novels about the life of famous industrial pioneers.<\/p>\n

In his book \u00ab\u00a0Ferdinand Porsche \u2013 Ein Mythos wird geboren\u00a0\u00bb Haug describes the life, setbacks and successes of the inventor and genius Ferdinand Porsche<\/a> in detail and comprehensively over 448 pages. It is a biography that reads like a historical novel and is supplemented by interesting insertions such as that in which the 75-year-old Ferdinand Porsche<\/a> together with his nephew Ghislaine Kaes discourses on the stages of his life on the way back from the Paris Motor Show in the autumn of 1950. Particular attention is paid to the engineer\u00b4s family circumstances because without his wife Aloisia (the \u00ab\u00a0Louis\u00a0\u00bb) and without his children (\u00ab\u00a0Louisl\u00a0\u00bb Piech and \u00ab\u00a0Ferry\u00a0\u00bb Porsche) and beloved grandchildren, whom he infects with his automotive passion, the Porsche dynasty and vehicle brand would be unthinkable.<\/p>\n

Haug narrates his turbulent life between these dates expressively and riddled with many personal details, preferences, habits and quirks. His career started with the legendary Bela Egger company, the pioneer of electricity in Austria, moving from his first successes at Lohner (electric \u00ab\u00a0Phaeton\u00a0\u00bb at the Paris Motor Show) to his promotions at Austro-Daimler<\/a> (first petrol-electric hybrid car, \u00ab\u00a0Mixte-Wagen<\/a>\u00ab\u00a0) and the founding of his own engineering office in Stuttgart.<\/p>\n
